The Orinoco Fair or Feria de la Sapoara is an annual festival held along the boulevard of Paseo Orinoco in Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela. During the entire month of August, the fair focuses on fishing for the sapoara, a fish native to the Orinoco River that can only be caught at this time of year and specifically on the southern bank of the Orinoco River along the river bank in front of Ciudad Bolivar. It is a cultural tradition of the region, an important event for local tourism. Hundreds of fisher
